10-year-old with kidney disease becomes Rajasthan's police commissioner

Jaipur: A 10-year-old boy suffering from chronic kidney disease had one of his wishes fulfilled on Thursday when he was made the police commissioner of the Rajasthan capital for the day.Thanks to the Make A Wish Foundation of India and Rajasthan Police, Girish Sharma -- who is battling a life-threatening kidney illness -- was able to fulfil his wish to sit on the chair of the police commissioner.[caption id="attachment_2182329" align="alignleft" width="380"] Representational image. From there, he went to the Gandhi Nagar police station where he spent some time. He was accorded a guard of honour and the smile on his face clearly showed how happy he was," said Smita Shah of the Make A Wish Foundation of India.As per the NGO's website, it grants wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions."We generally ask for three wishes from a child suffering from a life-threatening disease. When we asked Girish about his innermost wish, he said he wanted to become the police commissioner. So we arranged this with the cooperation and support of Rajasthan Police," she said.IANS
