Shimla, July 18 (IANS) Himachal Pradesh High Court Chief Justice Mansoor Ahmad Mir Friday awarded compensations amounting to Rs.1.57 crore, the highest so far, relating to 36 accidental claims.
Justice Mir decided the appeals arising out of the awards rendered by various Motor Accident Claims Tribunals. The cases were pertaining from 2006 to 2014, an official statement said.
To clear the backlog of motor claim cases, the chief justice is hearing the appeals under the Motor Vehicles Act every Friday.
