Vaibhav Sooryavanshi loses cool as heated argument turns physical on field after India A's super over loss: Watch

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi engaged in a heated altercation that even turned physical right after India A lost in a dramatic super over to Sri Lanka A in the ongoing tri-series in Dambulla on Monday, June 15.

The 15-year-old sensation needed to hit 14 runs in the final three balls of the super over but could not do so. After the last ball was bowled, the 15-year-old was seen arguing with the fielders of the Sri Lanka A team. The discussion soon got ugly and also involved pushing and shoving before the players were pulled apart by their teammates.

Sooryavanshi, usually very calm on field, had previously engaged in a heated argument with Pakistan U-19 pacer Ali Raza last year.

Dramatic match in Dambulla

Sooryavanshi's altercation took the focus away from a thrilling game of cricket in Dambulla where Sri Lanka A emerged victorious in the super over.

India A were bowled out for 265, a score that once looked out of reach of the team. However, Suryansh Shedge and Vipraj Nigam hit half-centuries to take India to a respectable total.

Sri Lanka A started their innings at 10-0 before a ball was bowled because Indian team was penalised for running in protected areas of the pitch. With quick cameos from the top-order and an incredible 91 from Sadeera Samarawickrama, the hosts looked in total control for the majority of the chase before losing way right at the end.

A run out on the last ball stretched the match into the super over but India A captain Tilak Varma engaged in a long discussion with the umpires over the result as he felt India A had actually won.

With light dipping quickly, Sri Lanka A batters gave an 17-run target to India A. Even that was controversial as the last ball of the over was declared a no ball which led to a long discussion again and further delayed the game.

Shedge took the strike for India A but could only get three off the first three balls. Left to do the heavy lifting, Sooryavanshi also failed and India A were stopped at just 9 in the super over.
