Forbes has released a report on the highest-paid female athletes for the year 2023. While India’s PV Sindhu is 16th on the list with earnings estimated to be worth $7.1 million, Poland’s Iga Swiatek ranked first with a whopping $23.9 million

Female athletes have come a long way. However, major challenges remain for women who wish to pursue sport, especially the matter of equal pay.

As we draw closer to the end of the year, we take a look at how women athletes have earned and what can be expected next. According to a Forbes report, 22-year-old tennis star Iga Świątek from Poland topped the list with an estimated $23.9 million in 2023 (before taxes and agents’ fees).

Another interesting insight from the analysis showed that of the 20 highest-paid female athletes 12 came from the field of tennis, while golf and football each had two athletes.

And for Indian fans, there was a reason to smile. PV Sindhu appeared on the list at the 16th position.
