According to Box Office India, Zero's disappointing opening figures should not come as a surprise as the film is neither a mass action film or a comedy. However, it was shocking that Khan's presence in the film did not lead to an increase in footfall over Saturday and Sunday.Box Office India further writes that as Zero is set in Uttar Pradesh has been received well in that territory as well as Bihar. In comparison, the film has failed to hold ground in West Bengal, Mysore, Tamil Nadu/Kerala and Mumbai circuits. In the overseas market, Zero has performed similarly. From the Gulf and Middle East, the film collected about $4.75-5 million with $1.75 million, $525,000 from Pakistan, $950,000 from the US and £300,000 from the United Kingdom, writes Livemint.Zero also stars Anushka Sharma, Katrina Kaif and Tigmanshu Dhulia.
