Shaitaan box office: Ajay Devgn starrer beats Tanhaji to become his 5th biggest opener of all-time

The Ajay Devgn, Jyotika, and R Madhavan starrer, Shaitaan, is poised to make milestones with its much-talked-about supernatural thriller tale, wreaking havoc at the box office. The makers have announced a whopping Rs.15.21 crores NBOC on its opening day. The box office collection is also boosted by the partial Maha Shivratri holiday in the country. It has beaten films like Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior and Baadshaho to emerge as Ajay Devgn's fifth-biggest opener of all-time

Talking about the reviews, Firstpost gave the film 2 stars and wrote, "Shaitaan could have been a good supernatural thriller, which we haven’t seen much in Hindi cinema of late, but it turned out to be a complete mess in the process of depicting the war of good vs evil. It’s a poorly made remake and the story is just not believable. Making the hero win at the end makes the film just too predictable."
