Farhan Akhtar and Ranveer Singh were coming together for a rebooted version of the filmmaker's Don franchise, and an official announcement was made three years back. This was the time when the leading man was going through a lean phase with three consecutive commercial failures. The historic success of Dhurandhar changed everything for him.

Little did Excel Entertainment anticipate that Singh would make an exit from their film but he had his own reasons to disassociate himself from the much-publicized project. After months of meetings, Akhtar approached FWICE to resolve the fiasco and it was decided in a meeting on Monday that film workers party wouldn't work with Singh amid the Don 3 controversy. Akhtar and his partner Ritesh Sidhwani have asked for Rs 45 crore as compensation from the actor.

While several narratives and speculations have surfaced over time, Ranveer has never considered it necessary to respond publicly or contribute to conjecture. His focus remains firmly on his work and the commitments ahead.

He continues to hold deep respect and goodwill for all those involved and sincerely wishes the franchise continued success. Choosing restraint and grace in moments like these has always been a conscious decision on his part, and he will continue to maintain the same stance “

Will the actor return the signing amount?

As per a report in Free Press Journal, “Ranveer has gracefully agreed to return his signing amount, which was reportedly around Rs 10 crore. To further compensate Excel, he has reportedly agreed to give them a stake in his next film, tentatively being referred to as Pralaay.” No confirmation about this development has come into forefront.

The source added, “However, just the fact that Ranveer has shown so much grace is good enough to make him a fair player in the industry. Like they say in fairy tales, all is well that ends well.”
