Ram Charan's Dhruva teaser gets a Dussehra release; makers whet fan frenzy with announcement

The first teaser of Ram Charan-starrer Telugu actioner Dhruva, which is the official remake of Tamil blockbuster Thani Oruvan, will be released on Tuesday at 5 pm, the makers said.DhruvaThe announcement came in an official statement of the makers on Sunday.Directed by Surender Reddy and produced by Allu Aravind, the film also stars Rakul Preet Singh and Arvind Swami in the lead.Arvind Swami plays the protagonist, reprising his own role from the original.The film was set for a Dussehra release and was to hit the screens on 7 October. However the film fell behind schedule after Swami fell ill.Fans are greatly excited for the teaser as they have not seen anything from the film after the first look was released in August.In the film, Ram Charan plays an IPS officer.Charan, as the son of Chiranjeevi, has in the past got huge openings for his films at the box office. However, none of his recent releases have made a mark. Dhruva may just be the film that brings Charan, the actor, back to the fore.Produced by Geetha Arts, the remake also has music by Hip-Hop Tamizha duo, just as the Tamil one.The original 2015 film was directed by Mohan Raja and had Jayam Ravi and Nayanthara in the lead.According to The Hindu, the film is being remade in Bengali as well, and Jeet and Prosenjit Chatterjee have teamed up for it.With inputs from IANS
