Priyanka Chopra to 'Usher' in UN's Global Citizen Festival; announced on Today Show
Priyanka Chopra is going to host the Global Citizen Festival with Seth Meyers, Neil Patrick Harris and Salma Hayek Pinault.

The United Nation's Global Citizen Festival which raises awareness about global issues, will take place on 24 September in Central Park, New York. Joining the long lineage of famous hosts is Priyanka Chopra, who will be joining popular television anchor Seth Meyers, actors Neil Patrick Harris and Salma Hayek Pinault to host the annual event.Firstpost's story on 26 July had mentioned that Priyanka would be appearing on the Today Show to make an announcement, along with R&B star Usher. The festival made its debut in 2012 to establish the UN's Sustainable Development Goals which aim to end global poverty by 2030. The festival will feature high profile music acts like Kendrik Lamar, Metallica, Major Lazer, Usher, Selena Gomez,Rihanna among others.Priyanka Chopra shared the news by tweeting this photo with hip hop star Usher:The Baywatch star said, "The spirit of the Global Citizen Festival is something very dear to me. With the opportunities to travel I've been given through my work, I see the world as an interconnected force — and this festival is an incredible example of the power of looking across our borders, and working together for the greater good. I'm very much looking forward to co-hosting this year, with such an amazing group of talent."The actress is shooting for the second season of her international TV show Quantico and is set to star in the upcoming revival of Baywatch as the villain.
