'Peddi' Box-Office Collection: Ram Charan-Janhvi Kapoor's film mints Rs 366 worldwide in 10 days despite negative reviews

Ram Charan-starrer "Peddi" has earned Rs 366 crore at the global box office.

The sports action drama is directed by Buchi Sana and released in theatres on June 4. It also features Shiva Rajkumar and Janhvi Kapoor, among others.

Production banner Vriddhi Cinemas shared the box office collection on its official X handle on Tuesday. The film opened with Rs 135.36 crore and went on to earn Rs 236.7 crore in its first weekend. "#Peddi is SOUTH INDIA'S NO.1 GROSSER OF 2026.Collects a gross of over 366 CRORES WORLDWIDE in 9 days," read the caption.

Amid the controversy, a report by Bollywood Hungama says the actress, who was paid Rs 5 crore for Devara, charged Rs 8 crore for Peddi.

“This is the biggest pay cheque of her career, and she was a thorough professional on the sets of Peddi. She was paid Rs. 5 crores for Devara, and this is a jump of about 50 per cent from Devara. With back-to-back success in the Telugu film industry with Devara and Peddi, Janhvi is considered to be the woman with a golden leg in the fraternity, commanding a 100 per cent success ratio,” a trade source was quoted saying.

Janhvi Kapoor finds support

Actor Dimple Hayathi came in support of Janhvi Kapoor after the actor’s portrayal in Ram Charan-starrer “Peddi” received criticism and said “the system and makers” are to be blamed.

The Telugu sports-action drama found itself at the centre of controversy after a section of audiences criticised the film for objectifying women through its camera work, dialogues, and romantic scenes between Charan and Kapoor.
