One Direction's production company sued, claiming the band's song 'Drag Me Down' was a rip-off

The plaintiff claims that the One Direction song 'Drag Me Down' is "essentially identical" to his song 'All My Life' that he released on SoundCloud in 2015.

Los Angeles: A songwriter has claimed that band One Direction's hit 'Drag me down' is a rip-off of one of his tracks.

Amir Shaheed-Edwards, who goes by the stage name Bravo, says the group ripped off his song 'All my life', reports tmz.com. Bravo says he recorded the song in 2015 and released it on SoundCloud. One Direction's song was also released in 2015.Bravo has now taken legal action, claiming the songs are "essentially identical". He has not explained similarities in the lawsuit.He is suing Syco Entertainment, which produced songs of One Direction, for damages and he wants the company to stop selling the song.Just a week ago, singer Liam Payne thanked fans for their love and support as it marked the seventh anniversary of the creation of One Direction, which has been on a hiatus since January 2016.Taking to Twitter, Payne, 24, recalled how his life changed for the better seven years ago today. "7 years ago today my life changed forever, beyond my wildest dreams, I'd like to thank everyone who has helped me along the way," he wrote.He then thanked his former bandmates Niall Horan, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson for helping him through the 1D journey."To my four band mates and brothers thank you so much along with all of our fans we really are 'the greatest team the world has ever seen'," he shared.
