Nicole Kidman's forthcoming film Destroyer is all set to hit Indian shores on 25 January, clashing with Kangana Ranaut's period-drama Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi. The crime thriller has been directed by Karyn Kusama,  known for the 2000 film Girlfight, which she had written, directed and produced.
Destroyer revolves around a hardened police detective Erin Bell, whose past continues to haunt her years after infiltrating a criminal gang undercover in an operation with devastating consequences. Unable to forgive herself for the past incident, she seeks refuge in alcohol.The film, which had its world premiere at the Telluride Film Festival on 31 August, has earned Kidman a Golden Globes nomination for the Best Actress in a Motion Picture - Drama category. Her performance has also been deemed Oscar-worthy by several critics.The first trailer for the film dropped on 17 October, where Kidman is seen in a near-unrecognizable avatar. As per refinery29, Kidman underwent her most extreme physical transformation till date for Destroyer.Apart from Kidman, the LA noir thriller also features Orphan Black star Tatiana Maslany, who plays a strung-out criminal, Sebastian Stan, Toby Kebbell, Bradley Whitford, Jade Pettyjohn and Scoot McNairy.
