Mark Antony actor Vishal makes shocking claims about corruption in CBFC, MIB reacts

Kollywood actor and producer Vishal grabbed the headlines yesterday when he shared a video on his Instagram handle and made some shocking claims about the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) ahead of the release of the Hindi version of his film, Mark Antony. He accused the board of corruption and claimed paying Rs 6.5 lakh to receive a certificate for the Hindi release.Along with a video, he shared a note, which read, "#Corruption being shown on the silver screen is fine. But not in real life. Cant digest. Especially in govt offices. And even worse is happening in #CBFC Mumbai office. Had to pay 6.5 lacs for my film #MarkAntonyHindi version. 2 transactions. 3 Lakhs for screening and 3.5 Lakhs for certificate. Never faced this situation ever in my career (sic)."Now, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB), has issued an official statement regarding the same and mentioned in the note that 'strictest action will be taken against anyone found involved'. The inquiry will take place today.The statement can be read, "The issue of corruption in CBFC brought forth by actor @VishalKOfficial is extremely unfortunate. The Government has zero tolerance for corruption and strictest action will be taken against anyone found involved. A senior officer from the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting has been deputed to Mumbai to conduct an inquiry today itself (sic)."Further adding, "We request everyone to cooperate with the Ministry, by providing information about any other instance of harassment by CBFC at jsfilms.inb@nic.in @producers_guild @motionpictures (sic)."While the original Tamil version of Mark Antony was released on 15 September, the Hindi version arrived on 28 September.
