The police raised concerns about security regarding the decision to keep presenting Dileep before the court, so he appeared before the judge through video conference. Neither his counsel nor the prosecution appeared in person in court.Dileep has not filed a revised bail application, but it likely to apply for it in the High Court, reports state. He changed his lawyer Ram Kumar and is being represented by Raman Pillai currently. There were rumours that he was receiving preferential treatment in prison when Sanoop, a prisoner housed near the actor, complained that he was receiving better quality food and that he only remained in his cell at night, while spending most of his time in the officers' chambers.Dileep has been named a conspirator in this case, and the police say that his motive to hire the main accused Pulsar Suni to abduct and molest the Malayalam actress in a moving car on 17 February was that she was the reason for the breakdown of his marriage to actress Manju Warrier. One of the latest developments in this case is that Appunni, Dileep's absconding manager, surrendered before the Special Investigation Team (SIT).
