Jr NTR turns 43: Fans flood Hyderabad residence as explosive Dragon glimpse breaks the internet

N. T. Rama Rao Jr. celebrated his 43rd birthday amid massive fan celebrations, while the first glimpse of his upcoming film Dragon with director Prashanth Neel sent the internet into a frenzy.

The actor’s Hyderabad residence witnessed huge crowds of fans gathering outside to celebrate the occasion, with videos of the celebrations quickly going viral across social media platforms.

Several clips shared online showed hundreds of fans assembling outside Jr NTR’s residence in Hyderabad with banners, drums and birthday cakes. Many supporters were seen chanting slogans and celebrating the actor’s birthday late into the night, highlighting his massive fan following across Telugu cinema and beyond. The actor even reprimanded his security team when they tried to push away the fans. Some fans tried to move closer to Jr NTR, and when his secutiry team tried to step in, he reportedly said, “All this chaos happened because of you."

Dragon glimpse becomes biggest talking point

Adding to the excitement, the makers unveiled the first glimpse of Dragon, tentatively referred to as NTRNeel, at midnight ahead of the actor’s birthday.

The action-packed teaser showcased Jr NTR in an intense, violent avatar, with the actor seen wielding weapons, walking through explosions and going on a brutal killing spree. The dark visuals, stylised action and gritty tone immediately drew comparisons to Salaar, Prashanth Neel’s previous blockbuster starring Prabhas.

What we know about Dragon

Directed by Prashanth Neel, Dragon marks the filmmaker’s first collaboration with Jr NTR. The film is being produced by Mythri Movie Makers and NTR Arts, with music composed by Ravi Basrur, who previously worked on KGF and Salaar. The cast includes Jr NTR, Anil Kapoor, Biju Menon, Rukmini Vasanth, Khushbu Sundar, Guru Somasundaram, Rajeev Kanakala, Ashutosh Rana, Anshuman Pushkar, Sidhant Gupta, Prabhas Srinu, Shatru, Shiva, Bhimal Jeet Oberoi, Ntuthuzelo prince Grootboom, Aleksandr Mizev, and Benedict Paul Garrett.

The film is set in 1967, against the backdrop of an opium trade conflict and the glimpse promises a hard-hitting story of rivalry between gangs and violence. The film is currently one of the most anticipated Telugu projects in production and is set to release on June 11.

The actor was last seen in Devara: Part 1, directed by Koratala Siva.  With Dragon already creating massive buzz online, Jr NTR’s birthday celebrations turned into a double celebration for fans eagerly waiting to see him in his next action-packed avatar.
