A journalist joked about how Trump's sons and son-in-law would have been in the Slytherin House, whose members include Severus Snape and Draco Malfoy, and Harry Potter author JK Rowling responded with sarcasm.[caption id="attachment_3358216" align="alignnone" width="825"]JK Rowling. Image from Facebook JK Rowling. Image from Facebook[/caption]Journalist Oliver Willis tweeted about how alumni from Hogwart's Slytherin house go far in life, and then named Donald Trump's sons Donald Jr and Eric, as well as their brother in law Jared Kushner.
The implication is obvious here; Willis meant to say that these three members of the Trump family are evil or bad. JK Rowling replied to the tweet by saying this:
She says that in order to be in the Slytherin house, Kushner and the Trumps would have to receive letters from Hogwarts, without which one cannot study at this fictional school of magic in the Harry Potter universe.Clearly, she does not think them worthy of the letter. The hat is a reference to the Sorting Hat, which sorts students into the four houses — Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Slytherin and Ravenclaw. This is not the first time that Rowling has taken jibes at Trump. When people compared Trump to Voldermort, she said that the latter was nowhere as bad, and has even called him a "giant orange Twitter egg" in the past.
