Jiah Khan suicide case: HC grants Suraj Pancholi bail

Pancholi, the son of actor Aditya Pancholi has been charged with abetting the suicide of Bollywood actress Nafisa alias Jiah Khan.

Accused of abetting the suicide of Jiah Khan, the Bombay High Court today granted bail to Suraj Pancholi today and has said that he will not be able to leave the country while on bail.The 22-year-old aspiring actor will have to surrender his passport and provide a surety of Rs 50,000.On 27 July, Pancholi's judicial custody was extended till 11 July.Pancholi, the son of actor Aditya Pancholi has been charged with abetting the suicide of Bollywood actress Nafisa alias Jiah Khan.[caption id="attachment_918485" align="alignleft" width="380"]Pancholi was in judicial custody. AFP[/caption]A former boyfriend of Khan, Pancholi was arrested on 10 June after her family handed over a letter, found three days after the actress’ suicide on 3 June, to the police.The letter spoke of her strained relationship with Suraj and how she was deeply hurt as she had to abort their baby.Suraj was involved romantically with Jiah for over a year.Khan’s mother blamed Suraj for driving her daughter to suicide. However, the letter did not mention the person it is addressed to and narrates emotional travails of its writer.Postmortem report of Jiah Khan has concluded that the Bollywood actress died due to hanging and no external injuries were found on her body.
