James Corden criticised by Rose McGowan, Asia Argento for Harvey Weinstein joke; issues apology
James Corden was slammed for making jokes about the Harvey Weinstein harassment case. Also, the Producers Guild of America has decided to expel the accused.

James Corden was recently trolled on Twitter for making jokes about Harvey Wesintein, Hollywood producer who is embroiled in multiple sexual harassment allegations. The Late Night Show host made a few jokes about Weinstein's alleged misbheaviour at a high-profile event which evoked both groans and laughter from the audience. In front of a packed audience, Corden started by saying what a beautiful night it was. “So beautiful, Harvey Weinstein has already asked tonight up to his hotel to give him a massage,” he said after which a few members whined in disappointment.Soon after the event, a clip of the comedian was released on Twitter. Actors Rosie McGowan and Asia Argento, both of whom have said they were raped by the producer, instantly expressed their displeasure with his jokes. Corden later issued an apology saying that his joke was not aimed at the victims but the abuser himself. In another ripple that Weinstein's case has caused, the Producers Guild of America has unanimously decided to expel the accused from the organisation. According to CBS News, the procedure has already begun and the final decision will be announced on 6 November. Weisntein is being given a chance to respond to these developments but he must do it before the day of the final verdict. This move comes days after the 65-year-old producer’s Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences membership was revoked.
