Los Angeles: Singer Katy Perry has released the highly-anticipated music video for her 2016 Rio Olympics anthem Rise.
In the video, directed by Paul Gore and produced by Matthew Ayriss and Danny Lockwood, Perry is seen struggling with her pink parachute under water and dangling from a rocky cliff. The Fireworks singer eventually flies with her parachute before landing on the rocky cliff again.Though the song is touted as the Olympics anthem, it would have been hard to guess without it being mentioned so. Neither the song's visuals nor the lyrics indicate that the song has anything to do with the sporting event. It only has the singer's struggles with a  parachute that only ends up boring the viewer after  a minute of watching it.Perry had previously said that this song had been "brewing inside me for years"."I was inspired to finish it now, rather than save it for my next album, because now more than ever, there is a need for our world to unite. I know that together we can rise above the fear, in our country, and around the world," she said.Watch the video here:
