Iron Man 3 mints Rs 21 crore on opening weekend

Iron Man 3 opened to packed cinemas last Friday and had a great opening weekend in which the superhero flick grossed Rs 21 crore.According to Business Today, Iron Man 3 is the second Hollywood film to have witnessed such a smashing opening  weekend in India after The Amazing Spiderman, which minted around Rs 25 crore in its first weekend.[caption id="attachment_740753" align="alignleft" width="380"] Courtesy: Facebook[/caption]On the first day, the film had a 100 percent opening in 3D screens and an 80 percent opening in 2D theatres across India.The Director of Theatrical Distribution, Studios, Disney UTV India, Gaurav Verma said,  "It is a superb start for Iron man 3 across the country. From 3D to 2D - English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu it's opened great. "The initial reaction to the film was overwhelming and some theatre owners are mulling over introducing more shows."IM3 has taken an astronomical opening, all our properties are sold out and the demand for tickets is growing, we are exploring to add more shows." said the MD of ESquare, Pune, Hemant Panchamia.Head of Programming, PVR Cinemas, Prakhar Joshi said, "Iron Man 3 has opened to full houses across our chain, there is a huge demand for the film ... It's a treat for Iron man fans, they are enjoying the film and it looks set to rock box office for a long run. "Directed by Shane Black, Iron Man 3 features Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle and Guy Pearce.
