Hrudayantar review round-up: Vikram Phadnis' Marathi film is designed to make you cry

It was earlier reported how the trailer of designer-turned-filmmaker Vikram Phadnis' directorial debut Hrudayanytar showed that the film is beyond a Hrithik Roshan cameo. YouTube[/caption]The Marathi film stars Mukta Barve, Subodh Bhave, Trushnika Shinde, Nishtha Vaidya and Sonali Khare with cameos by Shiamak Davar, Manish Paul and Roshan.The film released this past Friday on 7 July along with Ravi Udhyawar's Hindi thriller MOM, Ashwini Dhir's Hindi comedy Guest Iin London, James Watt's superhero flick Spider-Man: Homecoming and Shiva Nirvana's Telugu romantic drama Ninnu Kori.Overall, the Marathi family drama got positive response from the critics. While its fate at the box office remains to be seen, it has gained good momentum heading into its first weekend.Filmfare gave the movie 3.5 out of 5 stars and said, "Vikram Phadnis has used his clout to bring in cameos by Hrithik Roshan, Shiamak Davar and Manish Paul. The film has been provided with subtitles so those not understanding Marathi can enjoy it too. All-in-all, Vikram has made an impressive debut and let’s hope it’s the beginning of another fulfilling career."The Times of India gave the film 3 out of 5 stars and said, "Mukta, as always, is brilliant and Subodh is convincing. The supporting cast is sincere but doesn’t add a lot to the film. Hrithik Roshan does a cameo and speaks a lot through his expressions. All in all, Hrudayantar is a good but predictable film that leaves you with mixed feelings."Pune Mirror gave the movie 3 out of 5 stars and said, "Since Vikram Phadnis is a fashion designer turned filmmaker, his film is polished, and aesthetically pleasing. Hrudayantyar is one of those films, which is designed to make the audience cry, and trust me, you will."
