With Hotstar Specials, we can challenge the television conventions and thoughts, which in some ways were limiting in today's world, in terms of formats, number of episodes and themes in a meaningful way,” Sanjay Gupta, MD, Star India, told The Hindu BusinessLine, adding that an explosion of screens with the advent of smartphones demands a surge of diversified content.Hotstar Specials, as per the report, will release all episodes of a particular series at one go, much like its fellow streaming sites, Netflix and Amazon Prime Video. The shows released on the platform would also be available in six other languages apart from the language that the show is made in. The content on the streaming service will also be available for offline consumption.
