Diljit Dosanjh no longer an Indian citizen? Reports about U.S citizenship surface: Details inside

Diljit Dosanjh, the Punjabi singer and actor, is an Indian sensation whose popularity transcends boundaries. His albums and films and performances have been praised critics and fans. Some of his Hindi films are Udta Punjab, Phillauri, Good Newwz, and most recently Border 2. He will next be seen in Imtiaz Ali's Main Vaapas Aaoonga, which reunites him with the filmmaker after Amar Singh Chamkila.

A report by The Indian Express says the actor now holds a US passport. It added that he has been travelling to India on an e-visa since September 2022, which sources told the newspaper indicates that he does not hold an Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) card.

The report also says Dosanjh's last Indian passport was issued in Mumbai in 2018, while an earlier passport had been issued in Zambia.

Diljit Dosanjh was in Canada recently for his show, the ongoing Aura Tour in Calgary to be precise. Everything was going well until some members of the audience began to wave pro-Khalistan flags that forced Dosanjh to halt his performance. The video has gone viral on social media too.

The singer said last year on Amitabh Bachchan’s game show Kaun Banega Crorepati, “My job is not to do charity. But whichever platform I go on, I always talk about Punjab. We often say the national media doesn’t talk about Punjab enough. I went everywhere, including on that channel (Sony Entertainment Television for KBC) for the sake of Punjab. I put forth Punjab’s issues there. I’ve even donated generously to my state whenever needed.”

Diljit Dosanjh’s recent concert at the Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary, Canada, part of his Aura World Tour, has created online worry. A clip from his concert has gone viral on social media where he could be seen interacting with fans.

The singer was heard saying, “I have already left this world. I don’t have any fear of death. Last December, I was trying to get out of this body. But now I still have to do a few more things before I leave this body. There is nothing to be afraid of. This is not just a matter of Punjab; it is and will always be. I have already left this world; this is the truth. I am standing on this stage, and this is my God.”
