Dharmendra on the 'road to recovery' after suffering injury at a family wedding: Source

Veteran actor Dharmendra left his social media fans in a tizzy after he posted a picture of himself in the wee hours of the night sharing his struggle to sleep. The actor was visibly tired and didn’t look too well, sparking a conversation among his fans who were concerned about the actor’s health. Though he deleted the tweet, the discussion continued. However, as per the recent updates, the actor is recovering from an injury he suffered a few weeks back.

Dharmendra reportedly suffered an injury while attending a wedding with family in Udaipur. A source close to the star was quoted by Hindustan Times as saying, “He has been under the weather for the past two weeks, and that was visible on his face in the picture.”

“He went to a family wedding with his family including, Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol, recently in Udaipur. That’s where he got injured, and his health took a toll. He hurt his back and leg while dancing. And his health also suffered because of exertion and old age,” added the source.

It was further revealed by the source that the Teri Baton Me Aisa Uljha Jiya actor was exhausted because of the exertion which worsened because of his injury. The actor reportedly is on the road to recovery and is focusing on his health completely.”

Speculations around Dharmendra’s health began after he dropped a picture on his X handle and wrote, “Aadhi raat ho gayi... neend aati nahin… bhook lag jaati hai. Baasi roti makhan ka saath bahut sawad lagta hai (It’s midnight, I don’t feel sleepy…but have late-night hunger pangs. I love gorging on leftover chapatis with butter).” The picture showed the actor dressed in a black tracksuit, sitting on his bed. He appeared a little unwell in the picture following which a fan asked him about his leg, to which the actor replied, “Mera takhna fracture ho gaya. Aap sab ki duaon se jaldi tandurust ho jaoonga” (I fractured my ankle. With all your good wishes, I will be healthy again very soon). The actor, following the conversation fuelled due to the picture, deleted the tweet.

Workwise, Dharmendra’s last appearance was in Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon’s Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya. The film, despite a slow start, gradually went on to become a commercial success. Now, he is all set for his next along with Amitabh Bachchan's grandson, Agastya Nanda. The film is titled Ekkis. It has been directed by Sriram Raghavan.
