'Bigg Boss 16' contestants Shiv Thakare, Abdu Rozik summoned by ED in money laundering case

In a piece of shocking news for all Bigg Boss fans, former contestants Shiv Thakare and Abdu Rozik have landed in legal trouble as they were reportedly summoned by the Enforcement Directorate in connection to a money laundering case. According to a report published by the Free Press Journal, Shiv and Abdu were apparently called in to provide their statements regarding their connection to a case related to alleged drug lord Ali Asghar Shirazi.

The report also suggests that their statements have been recorded as witnesses in the case. However, a confirmed report is yet to be issued by the agency. According to the media outlet, Ali Asghar Shirazi had floated Hustlers' Hospitality Pvt Ltd, which financed several startup companies including Shiv Thakare's 'Thakare Chai and Snacks' and Abdu Rozik's 'Burgirr' in Mumbai.

Shiv Thakare's statement to ED in money laundering case

The former Bigg Boss contestants shared that they terminated their contracts after coming to know about Ali Asghar Shirazi's involvement in the narco business.

During the interrogation, Thakare said that he met Krunal Ojha, the director of Hustlers' Hospitality Pvt Ltd through somebody else in 2022. It was during that time that Kunal offered him a partnership deal for the Thakare Chai and Snacks.

One of the most popular contestants on the 16th season of Salman Khan-hosted Bigg Boss, Shiv Thakare and Abdu Rozik met for the first time and eventually developed a close bond with one another. While their friendship remained a major highlight of the show, the same was maintained even outside the house.

Besides Shiv and Abdu, they were friends with other housemates like Sajid Khan, MC Stan, Nimrit Kaur Ahluwalia, and Sumbul Touqeer, and were popularly called the ‘mandali’. After BB16, the two were often spotted partying together and were even seen taking part in Rohit Shetty’s Khatron Ke Khiladi 13. Thakare also participated in Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 11.
