NEW DELHI :The country's food price index rose 8.74 percent and the fuel price index climbed 13.05 percent in the year to April 9, government data on Thursday showed.
In the previous week, annual food and fuel inflation stood at 8.28 percent and 12.97 percent, respectively.
The primary articles price index was up 11.96 percent, compared with an annual rise of 11.40 percent a week earlier.
The wholesale price index-based inflation , the most widely watched gauge of prices in India, rose 8.98 percent in March from a year earlier, higher than February's 8.31 percent rise.
