DoT demands Rs 2 cr, Loop Telecom approaches TDSAT

Filing an application before TDSAT, Loop has submitted that DoT is going to encash a Performance Bank Guarantee of Rs 5 crore for the said dues.

New Delhi: Loop Telecom has approached sectoral tribunal TDSAT against a sum of Rs 2 crore claimed by the Department of Telecom (DoT) as license fee dues in 12 circles.

Filing an application before Telecom Disputes Settlement and Appellate Tribunal (TDSAT), Loop has submitted that DoT is going to encash a Performance Bank Guarantee of Rs 5 crore for the said dues.

Loop has submitted that for dues of 12 circles, the DoT is going to encash guarantee submitted from one circle.

According to the company, it has received letters from Bihar circle informing about the total dues and encashment of the bank guarantees.

The matter came up for hearing today but was put off till tomorrow.

Earlier in May, Loop had moved against DoT and Trai before TDSAT seeking refund of Rs 1,454 crore paid for 2G licences and also sought Rs 1,000 crore damages for loss of reputation after its licence cancellation.
