Modi effect: Coca Cola may launch made-in-India fizzy fruit drink by 2015
The Indian Prime Minister had told the soft drink makers should incorprate fruit juice in their drinks.

Expect this to be on the achievement list ofPrime Minister Narendra Modi by next year. After urging soft drink giants Pepsi and Coca Cola to consider using fruit juice in their soft drinks, it turns out one of them may actually develop a fizzy drink based on fruits by the summer of 2015.
According to an Economic Times report, Coca Cola has said that it will come up with a fruit juice-based drink that is being developed entirely in India.

The report quoted an unnamed source as saying that various flavours are being studied on a "priority basis" and the company hopes to have it in the market by summer 2015.
It's not clear if it will be an extension of existing fruit-flavoured products like Fanta and Sprite or an entirely different product. The company already has the Minute Maid brand of fruit drinks.
"Millions of people buy Pepsi and Coke. I have asked these companies if they can put five percent natural juice in their drinks," Modi had said earlier.
"If they can, then our farmers will make a lot of money. Our farmers will not have to throw their fruit away," he said after inaugurating a food park with a storage capacity of more than 20,000 tonnes for two dozen food processing companies.
