Telcordia Extends IBM Relationship For Next-Generation OSS
Under the agreement, core components of Telcordia's Fulfillment Suite will be offered on the IBM AIX operating system and certified with IBM WebSphere.
Telcordia has announced plans to make its next-generation operations support system (OSS) solutions available on IBM hardware and software platforms. The move extends an existing global relationship that has seen the two companies collaborate on numerous telecom transformation, OSS and service delivery deployments for global operators during the past decade.
Under the new agreement, core components of Telcordia's Fulfillment Suite, including Telcordia Granite Inventory, Assign & Design and Discovery & Reconciliation, will be offered on the IBM AIX operating system and certified with IBM WebSphere. Telcordia Fulfillment automates the entire Order-to-Service process for broadband, mobile and enterprise services, improving speed and efficiency in service planning; reducing service order fallout; and maximising asset utilisation and inventory data accuracy. The AIX operating system is designed to deliver scalability, reliability and manageability. In SOA (service-oriented architecture) environments, WebSphere enables dynamic, interconnected business processes and delivers effective application infrastructures.
The first Telcordia Fulfillment products running on IBM hardware and software will be available in the second quarter of 2010.
