SGI Intros RAID Array For Network Storage

High-performance computing (HPC) and storage solutions provider SGI has introduced the newest member of its storage portfolio in the form of SGI InfiniteStorage 220 RAID system.

With fully integrated software and an appliance-like design for simplified deployments, the storage solution is designed to enable data consolidation for organizations of all sizes.

The new system features a number of configuration choices that allow customers to choose the features that match their storage requirements. Customers can choose between Fibre Channel or Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) host connectivity, as well as between SAS and SATA disk drives to address specific storage challenges.

SGI claims that the InfiniteStorage 220 platform makes it easy to gain the benefits of high availability and RAID protection without the complexity of typical SAN solutions.
