The new GoFlex Slim comes in a 320GB (7200RPM) capacity with USB 3.0 support and is backwards compatible with USB 2.0. It is also preloaded with the driver for Mac compatibility and can easily switch between a Windows based computer and Mac without formatting or performance issues. Additional features include automatic backup and encryption software to keep the users' data safe. What makes the hard drive special is its dimensions. At 2.5-inches and a width of 9mm, it is touted as the world’s slimmest portable hard drive with it being 38% leaner than its previous version.
Said Rajesh Khurana, Seagate’s country manager - India & SAARC, "Today, people are using various applications like Facebook and mobile devices, so the demand of external storage has grown tremendously. In India, the external storage market is growing exponentially. The Indian market is a big and important market for Seagate." He further added, "The continued growth of personal digital media stores, our increasing mobile lifestyles and the continued proliferation of mobile devices are driving the demand for slimmer, more portable storage solutions."
