SAP AG has announced the general availability of the 8.0 release of the SAP Transportation Management (SAP TM) application. The new release significantly expands its scope of logistic and fulfillment management capabilities.

Commercial transportation is becoming more complex for the worldwide networks of shippers and logistics service providers (LSPs) moving raw materials, parts and finished goods through global supply chains. SAP TM helps these companies efficiently, quickly and accurately orchestrate the movement of goods. It creates an environment that simplifies, automates and interconnects transportation processes, improving order management, planning and consolidation and optimizing inbound and outbound shipments – all while taking into account real-world constraints, costs and penalties.
