SafeNet has announced the availability of QuickSec for IMS, an IPsec security solution designed to protect billing data and content within the IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS).
The IMS has been designed to enable carriers to offer multimedia services, such as video and voice over IP (VoIP) for delivery to mobile devices including smart phones and feature phones.
"The migration to the IMS environment presents carriers with a tremendous opportunity to offer a greater volume of features and services to a larger segment of consumers, however with every new technology comes new security threats that must me addressed," said Simon Blake-Wilson, managing director, Embedded Security Solutions, SafeNet.
According to Deepak Prasad, general manager – India, SafeNet Infotech, "The integration of QuickSec for IMS into feature phones, smart phones and desktop applications as well as CSCF, PDG, PDIF and security gateways enables customers to protect carrier revenue and support widespread migration to next-generation IMS networks."
