Microsoft May Buy Nokia's Smartphone Biz Soon

It has been less than a year, since Nokia and Microsoft joined hands to work on Windows Phones together. Now it appears that Microsoft may be making their next big move - buying the smartphone business from Nokia. According to GlobalPost, Nokia blogger and analyst, Eldar Murtazin, a Russian who was sued by Nokia, sometime back, stated that there might be an interaction between Microsoft’s Steve Ballmer and Nokia’s Stephen Elop about the major deal. There are bound to be patents, workforce and plants being moved to Microsoft, as part of this deal. The meeting is to take place in Las Vegas, Eldar Murtazin said. Nokia, however, on their part have rubbished these claims, saying that these were rumours that have been put to rest ages ago. Might be Microsoft phones soon

Eldar, on the other hand is convinced that this is going to happen and manufacturing will shift with factories. That being said, he, however is not sure as to when an official announcement will be made. He also says that Nokia will continue manufacturing basic phones through the years under their own brand name, but the smartphones business will go to Microsoft. He expects the entry-level phones for emerging markets to not do too well and this could spell doom for the company, years from now.
