Spot-fixing's first Bollywood link: Who is Vindoo Dara Singh?

Mumbai: Vindu Dara Singh, son of world wrestling champion and actor Dara Singh has been arrested by the Mumbai Police for his alleged links with the betting mafia. Police arrested Vindu post bookie Ramesh Vyas' arrest. Vyas had Vindu on his contacts list and had reportedly made several calls to him. Mumbai Police suspects that Vindu might have acted as a middleman between bookies and cricketers.Vindu is a small-time actor and has done several television shows. He has also been a part of several Bollywood and Punjabi films.[caption id="attachment_802177" align="alignleft" width="380"] Courtesy: ibn live[/caption]He debuted in Bollywood with Karan (2004) and appeared in supporting roles in films like Kambakhtt Ishq, Joker, Housefull 2 and Son Of Sardar.Vindu also did several films with Salman Khan. He acted in a supporting role in films like Garv, Maine Pyaar Kyu Kiya and Partner.However, he only gained popularity after winning Bigg Boss season 3 on 26 December 2009. He was also declared the most stylish and bold contestant of the show.Post his glory days at the Bigg Boss house, Vindu also did a cooking show called Welcome.Vindu (49) acted in a Punjabi film directed by his father, Rab Dian Rakkhan (1996). Like his father, who played the role of Hanuman in the TV series Ramayan, he too essayed the role of Hanuman in the TV serial Jai Shri Hanuman. Vindu also played the super villian Zaal in the tv series Shhhh... koi Hai.Vindu has been married twice. His first wife is actress Farah with whom he has a son called Fateh Randhwana. After his divorce he married Dina Umarova with who he has a daughter. Dina followed in Vindoo's footsteps and participated in a reality show Khatron Ke Khiladi that was hosted by Akshay Kumar.  The couple later on, participated in a reality show called Maa Exchange on Sony.Vindu had been a regular at several IPL parties and matches. At times he has been seen with Bollywood and cricket A-listers at the stands.
