I don't mind taking risks: Akshay Kumar speaks to Rajeev Masand about 'Airlift'
Akshay Kumar admits that films like Airlift demands a serious involvement, unlike films like the Housefull franchise, or his recent release Singh is Bling.

Akshay Kumar, who is set to offer another intense film Airlift, after Special 26 and Baby, feels that there are hundreds of such stories, which can be developed into a wonderful film. He cautions that they might not match a commercial success like Rowdy Rathore, but he is certain that such films should be made more often.[caption id="attachment_2587112" align="alignleft" width="380"]

If you are given a choice between Rowdy Rathore and Baby, which one would you love to watch? Ofcourse, Baby. But if you see the commercial business of Rowdy Rathore and Baby, there is a huge difference. You can’t make this kind of film commercially. With Airlift, I don’t mind taking a risk. I hope and I pray that one day will come when making these kinds of films will gain momentum,”Kumar told Rajeev Masand, in an interview taken at the Pawan Hans Aerodrom in Juhu, Mumbai.Kumar admits that films like Airlift demands a serious involvement, unlike films like the Housefull franchise, or his recent release Singh is Bling. “You have to work really hard for these kinds of films. In Housefull, I was enjoying. It was like a paid holiday. Whatever jokes cracked between ourselves later became part of the film. But for these (Airlift, Baby) kind of films you have to stick to the script, you have to be in the character until end,”said Akshay. He was shooting for Housefull 3 simultaneously with Airlift. When asked if he found it difficult to shoot two starkly different characters at the same time, he said, “Yo just need 5 to 10 mins to get into a character. At the end of the day, you are acting.”Watch the full interview next Tuesday on CNN IBN
