His posts were seemingly a response to several articles on Tuesday which claimed that contrary to what the couple had said in their joint statement, Malaika was consulting a divorce lawyer, and that Arbaaz (and not Malaika) had been the one to give out the statement as "there was too much pressure on him to separate with dignity".On Tuesday, Arbaaz tweeted:He also called out the reports that had quoted a nameless "friend of the couple" as the basis of their allegations. When the couple had issued their joint statement, Arbaaz had posted a link to the same on his social media account, adding a request for privacy. Malaika had linked to his post on her Instagram account as well.Speculation that the couple's marriage had ended had been doing the rounds of the film industry for several months now. The joint statement by Malaika and Arbaaz confirmed that they had separated.
