Triumph Street Triple 2017 expected to launch in India on 12 June

British motorcycle manufacturer Triumph has confirmed that the new 2017 Street Triple will be launching in India on 12 June. The third generation of the bike which was revealed last year will finally be made available for the Indian market.The Street Triple comes in three variants including the S, R and RS. While all are based under the same model series, all offer different power output and equipment. The company is expected to launch the S variant first followed by the R and the RS by the end of this year. According to a report by NDTV Auto, Triumph dealers have started accepting bookings for the Street Triple which Rs 1 lakh and have said that the Street Triple S could have a price tag around Rs 10 lakh (on-road Delhi).[caption id="attachment_357183" align="aligncenter" width="640"] 2017 Triumph Street Triple S[/caption]The 2017 Street Triple gets a bunch of new upgrades including and all-new engine, air box, a lighter free-flow exhaust and a slipper clutch for the R and RS variants. The Street Triple series has been a successful product for the bike maker as it has sold  over 50,000 models of the Street Triple worldwide since it was launched on 2007. The company is expected to assemble the Street Triple locally and will be pitted against the Ducati Monster 821 and the Kawasaki Z900.[caption id="attachment_357179" align="aligncenter" width="640"] 2017 Triumph Street Triple RS[/caption]All three variants of the Street Triple feature a 765 cc, 3-cylinder engine, however power output varies. The R variant produces 111 bhp at 11,250 rpm, the S variant produces 116 bhp at 12,000 rpm and the top-end RS can churn out 121 bhp at 11,700 rpm. All three weigh the same at just 166 kgs with the R and RS getting additional equipment like switchable ABS and a 5-inch TFT instrumentation.
