Triumph launches Street Triple S in India, entry level model priced at Rs 8.5 lakh

A few days back we reported that Triumph was planning to launch the Street Triple series in India and today, the company has launched the entry-level S variant at Rs 8.5 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi).The new Street Triple series was showcased last year and finally, the British bike-maker is introducing them in India. The Street Triple S bike comes with new inner and outer radiator cowls, front and rear mudguard and new rear body panels. It is said to be the lightest bike in its category with a dry weight of 166 kgs. The bike comes with an LCD instrument console, instead of the TFT screen available on the R and RS variants. The engine is a 765 cc in-line which gets 80 new components. It produces 111 bhp and 73 Nm of peak torque which is the lowest compared to all three variants. Other features include Showa suspension system at the front and rear, 41 mm USD forks at the front with separate function fork and 110 mm of travel, and a preload adjustable monoshock unit at the rear.There's a new gull wing swingarm as well. Braking is handled by Nissin with a two-piston sliding calipers at the front and a Brembo single-pot caliper with a 220 mm disc at the rear.The Street Triple S will be available in Diablo Red and Phantom Black color options.
