Skoda Kodiaq gets listed on manufacturer's India website; launch expected soon
Skoda India has listed its Skoda Kodiaq with the words "En Route" at the bottom, hinting that the launch is near.
While all eyes are on the soon to be launched Skoda Octavia facelift, fans of the brand will be in for a surprise as the company's first SUV, the Kodiaq is already on its way to India.
The official Skoda India website as reported by CarWale already has the vehicle listed with the words "En Route", hinting that the launch is near.
Tapping on the vehicle listing opens up a page where owners can register their interest in Skoda's Kodiaq SUV. Also included is some imagery showing off the sharp design and the vehicle's off-road capabilities.
It isn't clear which variants of the Skoda Kodiaq will arrive in India. Skoda in January also announced a Kodiaq Scout and a Kodiaq Sportline variant just before the Geneva Auto Show.

The standard model has been spied one too many times testing on Indian roads. While the vehicle was expected to arrive in September, Skoda may want to launch it earlier since it is the company's first SUV and there's plenty of competition coming from other auto manufacturers in the Indian market.
The Kodiaq gets its name from the Kodiak bear which is found in Alaska. The vehicle has been derived from the Vision S concept that debuted at the 86th Geneva Motor Show.
The design is influenced by Czech cubism and features plenty of cuts and straight lines but retains the recent change in Skoda’s design philosophy that is also evident in the new Superb sedan.
The Kodiaq is expected to be offered in two TDI variants and three TSI variants. The petrol engine will be a 2.0-litre unit that develops 177 bhp, while the more powerful diesel will also be a 2.0 litre engine capable of delivering 189 bhp. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual gearbox or DSG transmissions that will arrive with six or seven speeds.
The SUV was announced in 7-seater and 5-seater layouts at the initial launch, but for now there are no details as to which one would make it to India. Earlier this year Skoda also announced two new variants of the Kodiaq SUV.
