Honda Motorcycle India celebrates the sale of 1 million Activas in five months
The Honda Activa has been the best selling scooter for three months in a row, and Honda had sold 2.17 lakh units in August itself

Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India celebrated the sale of 1 million Activa scooters within a span of five months, which is a first in the two-wheeler sector in India. The Honda Activa has been the best selling scooter for three months in a row, and Honda had sold 2.17 lakh units in August itself. Honda claims that the Activa contributes to 51 per cent of the scooter segment.
Keita Muramatsu, the president and CEO of Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) said, “We are excited to have started the festive season on a high note, with Activa creating a hat-trick as the no. 1 selling two-wheeler of India for three consecutive months. From reactivating the scooter segment in India in 2001, Honda’s iconic Activa has slowly started penetration in rural India. Further, with the improvement in rural infrastructure in future, we expect that scooter contribution has the potential to go up further.”
