F1 2016: Lewis Hamilton on pole at Austin

Nico Rosberg takes second spot on the grid, making it a Mercedes lock-out of the front row

Lewis Hamilton will go into the 2016 United States Grand Prix at the Circuit of the Americas, with an advantage over his team-mate Nico Rosberg. Hamilton qualified on pole, with a timing of 1m 34.000s, pipping Rosberg to the head of the grid. Rosberg had to stay content with second on the grid, two-tenths behind his team-mate and title rival. Hamilton could potentially win  the race from pole, which also gives him a psychological advantage over Rosberg in their battle for the 2016 drivers' championship title.
