Audi quattro division renamed Audi Sport; will announce 8 new models in the coming months
Audi Sport 'RS' tradition started in 1994 with the appearance of the Audi RS 2 Avant.
Audi has announced that its quattro division which was responsible for designing and developing high-performance cars will now be renamed to Audi Sport. The subsidiary of the Audi was opened up in 1983 and has been rolling out some fine machines and later moved on to work on other projects including a customer racing and personalisation program via Audi Exclusive.Former Lamborghini chief Stephan Winkelmann will now be in charge of the Audi Sport division that includes DTM racing and Formula E racing, the Audi Sport TT Cup, Audi Exclusive program, Audi Sport merchandise and more importantly, the performance road cars division.[caption id="attachment_346774" align="aligncenter" width="640"]
The Audi RS 7 Performance[/caption]The product portfolio of Audi Sport GmbH currently comprises the Audi RS 3 Sedan, Audi RS Q3, Audi RS Q3 performance, Audi RS 6 Avant, Audi RS 6 Avant performance, Audi RS 7 Sportback, Audi RS 7 Sportback performance, Audi TT RS Coupé, Audi TT RS Roadster, Audi R8 Coupé, Audi R8 Spyder and the Audi S8 plus.Audi also announced that it would introduce 8 new additions to its RS line up in the coming months but did not give out any details with regards to which models would arrive in the RS guise.
