In a bid to increase sales, the first thing that automobile manufacturers usually resort to is that they reach out to untapped territories. Most of mass market car manufacturers in India like Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai have been opening new showrooms in Tier II and Tier III cities as well as small towns. These companies have commented earlier that while sales in major cities are either slowing down or reaching a stagnation point, it is the smaller cities which are showing stellar growth.
