US, Israel warn of Iranian-linked cyberattacks on water systems

The United States and Israel have jointly issued an advisory to draw attention to what they describe as malicious cyber activities connected to Iran, with potential impacts on various sectors, including US water systems, energy and food, as reported by Bloomberg.Cybersecurity entities such as the Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Security Agency, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the Israel National Cyber Directorate report that hackers associated with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps have been targeting programmable-logic controllers manufactured by Unitronics, the report said.According to the agencies, since at least November 22, actors affiliated with the IRGC, operating under the name 'CyberAv3ngers,' have successfully compromised Unitronics devices. As part of their intrusion, they have left a message stating, "You have been hacked, down with Israel."
