According to authorities, the former leader of the People's Party of Spain in the Catalan region was shot in the face on Thursday in Madrid.At roughly 1:30 p.m., Alejandro Vidas Quadras was shot in the affluent Salamanca neighbourhood of central Madrid and taken to the hospital.In Catalonia, Vidas Quadras, 78, led the center-right PP.A perimeter has been established by the police around the shooting site.
