Russia shoots down missile over key Crimean town, slams Ukraine

According to regional governor Mikhail Razvozhayev on Telegram, Russia shot down a missile over Sevastopol on Wednesday over the Crimean peninsula, which is home to the Black Sea Fleet.He claimed that no one had been hurt and that no infrastructure had been harmed when the missile exploded in a field. Later, the defence ministry of Russia reported that two converted S-200 anti-aircraft defence missiles had been shot down over Crimea.In its battle to regain not only Crimea but also the portions of four southern provinces that Russia seized in its full-scale invasion 20 months ago, Kyiv has been assaulting Moscow's forces on the peninsula more and more frequently since Russia annexed Crimea from Ukraine in 2014.(With agency inputs)
