Prime Minister Narendra Modi Friday met Israel's President Isaac Herzog on the sidelines of the COP28 climate summit in Dubai."The two leaders exchanged views on the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict in the region. PM expressed his condolences on the loss of lives in the October 07 terror attacks and welcomed the release of hostages," Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said in a tweet on X.The Prime Minister also reiterated the need for continued and safe delivery of humanitarian aid for the affected population in Israel and Gaza. He also highlighted India's support for a two-state solution and early and durable resolution of the Israel-Palestine issue through dialogue and diplomacy.Last month, PM Modi emphasised the importance of ensuring that the war between Israel and Hamas does not turn into a regional conflict.At the G20 virtual summit, Modi welcomed the deal between the two warring sides to release hostages and underscored the significance of “timely and uninterrupted” humanitarian aid in Gaza.
