Pakistan: US drone attack kills four militants in South Waziristan

At least four militants were killed today when a US drone struck their compound in northwestern Pakistan's restive tribal region bordering Afghanistan, officials said.

Islamabad: At least four militants were killed today when a US drone struck their compound in northwestern Pakistan's restive tribal region bordering Afghanistan, officials said.The pilotless plane hit the militants' compound in Birmal area of South Waziristan. A security official said four rebels including a foreign militant of Arab-origin were killed in the attack and the compound was completely destroyed.There are also reports that some militants were also injured. The US has persisted with drone attacks despite complain by Pakistan that such attacks were a violation of its sovereignty.South Waziristan is one of the seven lawless tribal districts of Pakistan that border Afghanistan.PTI
