WWDC 2026: Apple Intelligence expands with deeper system-wide integration across Safari, Camera, and more

Apple Intelligence took center stage with a wide range of new system-wide capabilities aimed at making everyday tasks more seamless and context-aware.

One of the key upgrades is its ability to connect events and information across apps. It can piece together sequences of activity, surface relevant clips at the top of apps, and even identify specific incidents—such as package deliveries—by pulling data from multiple camera feeds.

The Home app is also getting smarter, with Apple Intelligence grouping notifications into unified alerts for ongoing activities. It can analyse footage from compatible security cameras and generate descriptions of events happening around the home.

In the Phone app, a new feature called Call Context allows Apple Intelligence to pull relevant information from across apps. For example, while speaking to an airline, it can automatically retrieve a confirmation code from Mail to assist with the call.

Messages, Calendar and Password Management

Messages and Calendar are also gaining deeper intelligence. Messages can suggest actions such as creating reminders or pulling photos based on conversation context, while Calendar now supports natural language input for adding events more easily.

Password management is getting a major boost as well. Apple Intelligence can detect compromised credentials, notify users, and even automatically update passwords when needed.

Safari is also being enhanced with multiple AI-powered features. It can organise tabs into topics, suggest and manage related tabs while browsing, and introduce a “Notify Me” feature that alerts users when changes occur on monitored pages. A new tool also allows users to create custom browser actions for quick access to specific webpage functions.

Across all these features, Apple emphasised that Safari continues to protect user privacy by not sharing browsing data externally. Overall, Apple Intelligence is being positioned as a deeply integrated assistant that works quietly across apps to reduce friction and anticipate user needs.

New image playground

Image Playground now supports more photorealistic generation and improved natural language prompts through Apple Intelligence. Apple Intelligence now lets users create event invites from Photos and generate custom images for messages, wallpapers, and apps, with developers also gaining access to the Image Playground API

Background Clean-Up has been updated with a new Depth of Field feature using the “Extend” tool, alongside a more advanced capability powered by Apple Vision Pro. With Spatial Reframing, users can change the composition of their images and adjust framing to suit their needs.

With a simple tap on Reframe, an image can be repositioned into a new perspective. Any additional or expanded space is intelligently filled in using generative models, creating a seamless and natural-looking result. Siri AI and Beta will be available later this year, not to be available in the EU and China right now.
